FRIENDS of the Upper East Side Historic Districts mourns the passing of their beloved President, Anne Lalor Millard.
“She will be missed for her indomitable leadership, affectionate friendship, ebullient humor and love of her neighborhood,” said the preservation group in a statement.
Millard, age 78, died peacefully at home after a brief illness. She leaves her husband of 51 years, Peter deFlorez Millard, their four children, Richard, Hugh, Peter (Katrina) and Minnie (Brewster Carroll) and five grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St. Jean Baptiste, at Lexington and East 76th Street, on Tuesday May 28 at 4 p.m. Memorial donations may be given to Friends of the Upper East Side Historic Districts and/or Park Avenue Armory.
