THE BI APPLE
By Stephanie Pekarsky
Deliberately lacking in much of the glitz and artificiality of the mainstream porn world, the release party for Audacia Ray’s porn directorial debut, The Bi Apple—which includes sex research, tantric explorers and hot bisexual action—is a celebration of the pleasures of the flesh. Ray’s fellow erotic artists will be supporting her in force: Bella Vendetta dips into her stable of erotic performers to offer stripping and lap dances to the impassioned masses; firedancing group Alis on Fire presents their own brand of body worship and tribal dance through the use of flame and dexterity; and Rites of Passage manipulates flesh in an altogether different way via a suspension performance. Additional free smut will, of course, be available for the taking. The variety of entertainment on hand is in itself a testament to the multiple media Ray draws upon to disseminate her sex positive message. In addition to porn directing, Ray is the executive editor of $pread magazine (a publication by and for sex workers) and a regular contributor to Fleshbot.com. She also has a book forthcoming from Seal Press—Naked on the Internet: Hookups, Downloads and Cashing in On Internet Sexploration.
