REDUNDANT REPORTING

By Doug Black

Sometimes, it’s a truly life-affirming feeling when an official organization confirms your personal suspicions. Other times—like after the New York City Transit Rider Council’s recent study—it’s just infuriatingly obvious. The council’s extensive report shows that NYC buses are slow and often late. The less-than-shocking findings clock the average bus at five minutes and 15 seconds behind their published schedules. And now, with that burning question effectively tackled, one can only assume that the group’s next study will focus on resolving whether NYC subway stations smell good or bad.
