The reigning Miss New Jersey recently succumbed to the same fate as so many erstwhile Jersey girls before her: After getting knocked up by her boyfriend, she was forced to retire her position. 20-year-old Ashley Harder plans to raise the forthcoming child, conceived with her live-in boyfriend, but due to pageant restrictions against pregnancy, she had to hand the reigns over to the state’s runner up. Donald Trump was uncharacteristically mum about the untimely event—the third recent surprise involving women from his Miss USA pageant, saying only that he wishes her well. Maybe next time The Donald will think twice about making his investments across the Hudson.
